The phenomenal rise of Build-to-Rent is well established. There has never been so much choice for finding a home, thanks to the renter-exclusive apartments found in these communities. But if you're operating Build-to-Rent apartments, you still need to get your shiny properties in front of the eyes of those who need them.

Traditionally, property portals Rightmove and Zoopla were the go-to places to list a home. In the last few years, however, more options have come to the fore. Enter Movebubble and OnTheMarket, two alternatives to the status quo.

We’ve already looked at how Movebubble compares to Rightmove and Zoopla from a Build-to-Rent perspective. Now, we’re turning our attention to OnTheMarket and seeing how we stack up against one of the newer property portals.

What is the difference between Movebubble and On The Market?

OnTheMarket was launched to combat Rightmove and Zoopla, two portals that, over the years, had left many letting agents disgruntled. When the company started in January 2015, it had the backing of major estate agents, such as Knight Frank, Savills and Chestertons.

Pros and cons

OnTheMarket is essentially another version of Rightmove and Zoopla, offering property listings to buyers and renters. Its focus on all types of property transactions means that it’s not a specialist in the field of renting.

Movebubble, on the other hand, is a renting-only platform with a focus on major cities like London and Manchester. With a renter base of more than 700,000, we’ve become the de-facto place for professional, verified renters to find their next home.

Back to basics

OnTheMarket certainly fares a little better than Rightmove and Zoopla when it comes to property search filters, providing searchers with the ability to choose “character homes”, gardens and whether or not you want a, erm, driveway.
